Another week down. Thank you for being so incredibly positive as we continue this transition.

We’re moving our roastery back to Valencia Street over the next few weeks. You wholesale partners, café patrons, and web customers shouldn’t notice any difference--except for the zip code on the return label. We’ll be roasting everything in that same beautiful 15 kilo (33 pound) 1957 Probat that we started with nine years ago.

Some of you have asked how our growing partners will be affected by this transition. The specifics remain unclear for now, but we’re dedicated to honoring our long-term relationships with growers and millers. (Some beautiful new coffees just arrived from our partners in Rwanda and Peru, for instance. If you can, please join us to taste them in person, or ask for a sample.) In general, we've received a lot of love and support from our green coffee network, for which we’re very grateful. 

Again: We’re still covering all employee co-pays for counseling through Kaiser, no questions asked. We’ve also established outside HR, and asked our coworkers to contact them directly with any thoughts or concerns.

Our goal remains to make this company viable to transition to a new business model. Thank you for your continued hard work and thoughtful suggestions. Please keep it coming. One week at a time.
