COLOMBIA ALVEIRO ANTONIO MUÑOZ
tasting notes: green gape, kiwi, elderflower, cane sugar, pluot
processing: washed elevation: 1700 masl variety: Catimor, Colombia region: San Vicente, San Lorenzo, Nariño
Alveiro Antonio Muñoz has been farming in the steep highlands of San Lorenzo, Nariño for more than two decades, tending 2.5 hectares in the cool, volcanic-soiled corregimiento of El Carmen. Coffee is the family’s life and livelihood. His wife Mireya and two daughters are all part of it, one of whom is a professional in agroforestry.
This lot from the 2025 harvest is processed with a disciplined hand: 48 hours of traditional fermentation, then a slow 10 to 15 day dry in parabolic dryers. The result is bright and expressive: green grape and kiwi up front, elderflower throughout, with cane sugar sweetness and pluot in the finish.
