José Laurencio Narváez has been farming Finca Senderito with his family for 22 years on the steep, rugged slopes of San Lorenzo, Nariño. The name means "little path," inherited long before José Laurencio ever worked the land, and it suits a place where the terrain is so demanding that nearly everything is done by hand. His wife Dolly and their three children are woven into the daily life of the farm, and its future.
This lot comes from roughly 2,000 Pink Bourbon trees planted about six years ago, processed washed with 48 hours of traditional tank fermentation and dried slowly over 10 days on parabolic and patio dryers. The result is as delicate as the place is rugged: jasmine and floral top notes open into loquat, apricot, and ripe stonefruit.
